Transcutan was founded in 2001 as a spin-off from research at Uppsala University Hospital and Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. The founders wanted to improve the existing access care by developing a new concept for intracorporal access ports.
After several years of tests and studies, the first product, T-port™ Enteral Access System, received its CE mark and was launched in 2014.
Since 2016 we are distributors for TauroPharm’s unique antimicrobial catheter lock solutions, TauroLock™ and NutriLock™.
We are continously developing reliable and easy to use products that help patients to live a better and freer life. Today, our T-port™ is indicated when patient therapy requires repeated and/or long-term access to the gastrointestinal tract. The system can be used for enteral delivery of medications, nutritional supplementation, and fluids.
But that´s only the beginning. Our aim is to extend the T-port concept towards other areas, such as hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
