Sustainability at Hammarplast Medical

At Hammarplast Medical, we view sustainability as a central part of our vision for the future. We are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact and develop more resource-efficient and circular solutions.

Our focus:

We are committed to developing and offering products made from materials sourced from alternative supply chains.

As an ISCC-certified manufacturer, we operate according to the mass balance principle, which enables traceability and attribution of certified raw material flows throughout the value chain. ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) is a global certification system that covers, among other things, biocircular and circular material flows.

Through the ISCC mass balance system, we can offer biocircular raw materials—attributed under the ISCC mass balance system—in select products. The mass balance principle makes it possible to use certified alternative raw material streams within existing production systems, while tracking and attributing material flows throughout the value chain.

Our sustainability measures include:

✅ Regional sourcing to reduce transportation emissions, shorten lead times, and ensure more resource-efficient production.
✅ FSC-certified packaging to ensure that our packaging materials come from responsibly managed forests.
✅ Participation in projects for circular solutions, where we develop the materials and production methods of the future.

We are certified under ISO 14001 and are constantly working to improve our environmental performance through innovation, efficiency improvements, and new solutions.

Hammarplast Medical shall work effectively to protect the environment, by:

• Comply with applicable legislation and requirements and cooperate with authorities.

• Analyze, select and implement what is environmentally justified, technically feasible and economically reasonable in the context of investments.
• Seek solutions from a life-cycle perspective that have a lower overall environmental impact and promote sustainability.
• Work to reduce the relative consumption of raw materials and energy and reduce the relative amount of waste.
• By working with suppliers whose products have a significant environmental impact, encourage them to work to reduce their environmental impact.
• Train and inform employees to actively participate in environmental work.
• Take actions that lead to continuous improvement.
