Our history

1990
A new ownership takes shape when the Hermansson family and the PLASTUM Group acquire the companies Landén Plast and Livereds Förpacknings AB. Focus areas are established: Landén focuses on medical devices, while Livereds concentrates on thermoformed plastics.

1992
We grow further through the acquisition of Proform Sweden AB, which strengthens our competence in blow molding.

1997
With the acquisition of Boazul Medical AB, we take a step into a new niche and start manufacturing roll on cuffs for the bloodless field.

1998
A strategic decision is made when Livereds Förpacknings AB is sold to IT-Pac Sverige AB, creating space for us to focus on our core areas.

1998
PLASTUMgruppen acquires Hackman Hammarplast AB. The parent company is renamed Hammarplastgruppen AB and Hackman Hammarplast is transformed into Hammarplast Consumer AB.

2003
We strengthen our position in medical technology by acquiring the production of medicine measure from Danish Superfos.

2004
Landén Plast takes a big step forward and becomes Hammarplast Medical AB, a clear indication of our focus on medical devices.

2009
We broaden our business by acquiring Scandinavian Medical JW AB, which changes its name to Scandinavian Medical Systems AB. At the same time, a new business area is introduced: surgical products.

2010
The acquisition of Inmedic AB in Bredaryd and its subsidiaries, Inmedic AS in Tallinn and Dental All-around AB, further strengthens our presence in medical technology.

2011
A strategic step is taken when we sell Hammarplast Consumer AB to focus fully on medical device solutions.

2012
The companies Boazul and Inmedic are merged with Hammarplast Medical AB, resulting in three distinct business areas: Custom, Surgery and Disposables.

2013
Hammarplast Medical acquires 51% of the shares in Transcutan AB, which strengthens the company's position in medical device innovations.

2015
A strategic streamlining of business areas is implemented - from three to two clear focus areas: Branded Products and Customized Products.

2017
The company increases its ownership in Transcutan AB by a further 19% of the shares, giving a total ownership of 70%. Transcutan's operations are integrated into Hammarplast Medical AB.

2018
Sustainable growth is prioritized through a significant expansion of the cleanroom and warehouse at the Bredaryd facility.

2021
A larger and more flexible organization is established to support Transcutan AB's growth, with headquarters in Gothenburg.

2022
The company takes a strategic step forward with the acquisition of an industrial site of over 35,000 m² in Bredaryd, an investment in future growth.

2023
A historic year with the groundbreaking of a brand new production facility in Bredaryd - a milestone for Hammarplast Medical.

2024
The new facility is completed with a production area that grows from 2,600 m² to over 5,000 m². In addition, the clean room is expanded to 1,400 m², an increase of 600 m², enabling even higher capacity and quality.
